Indian fishing boat crew hails ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ after receiving medical aid from Pak Navy

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy Ship‘Alamgir’ (Oliver Hazard Perry ClassFrigate) successfully rescued astranded Indian fishing dhow named‘St. Marys’ via a rescue operationwhile conducting Maritime SecurityOperations (MSOs) in Gulf of Aden.
The boat which sailed from Indianport of Colochel had reportedlybecome non-operational due to lossof engine propulsion in open seanear Salalah (Oman) for last 8 dayswith 12 crew members on-board.
On receipt of information andrequest for help from the fishingdhow, Pakistan Navy Ship waspromptly dispatched which throughits technical team repaired the boat,removed its defect and made itseaworthy.
The rectification of defect requiredmiscellaneous repairs includinggearbox removal and re-fixingfollowed by alignments and repairsthrough improvised solutions bytechnical team on-board the Indianboat.
The stranded boat crew wasdehydrated and also requiredmedical care and edibles. PakistanNavy Ship rescue team provided itthe necessary edibles and medicalcare.
The master and crew of the strandedboat thanked Pak Navy for its kindgesture and swift response, byhailing 'Pakistan Zindabad' (Longlive Pakistan), and thereafter shapedcourse to Indian port.
